What I Photograph
I keep my focus narrow on purpose. These are the sessions I love, the ones I've shot again and again, so I know exactly how to make them feel easy.
Sleepy, snuggled first portraits with gentle posing, soft wraps and a calm, unhurried pace. The heart of what I do.
First birthdays, sitter sessions and full cake-smash setups, from a tidy little spread to a gloriously messy finish.
Short, sweet sessions for the in-between moments, just you and your little one.

The Studio
Mekenzie Tarver Photography is my little studio in Kennewick, and newborns are my favorite thing in the world to photograph. There is something about those first few weeks, all curled fingers and milk-drunk sleep, that I never get tired of capturing.
I've built the studio to be a warm, calm place with props, wraps and setups already on hand, so the only thing you have to do is show up with your little one. I take my time, give gentle direction if you're nervous in front of the camera, and get your edited images back to you quickly.
Whether it's a newborn session, a first-birthday cake smash or the whole family, my hope is the same: that you walk away with photographs that feel like the real thing, soft and honest and yours to keep.

Newborn portraits are the heart of what I do, along with baby milestone and cake-smash sessions, mommy and me minis, and family portraits. Everything is shot in my Kennewick studio with props, wraps and setups already on hand.
Reach out by message or give me a call and we'll talk through what you're hoping to capture and find a date. Sessions are by appointment, and I've been able to fit families in on short notice when a newborn arrives.
Newborn sessions are usually best in those first couple of weeks while babies are sleepiest and snuggliest, so it helps to reach out before your due date. That said, get in touch whenever, and we'll make it work around your little one.
